A Proof-of-Concept Study of the Challenges of Assessing the Impact of Crime Scene Units' Accreditation
An early attempt to measure whether accrediting crime scene units changes outcomes. Using public Australian government data and a difference-in-differences design, the study compares case finalisation rates before and after accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025 and AS 5388 — and shows how difficult the effect of accreditation is to isolate.
